Urban and Rural Development Organization (URDO) is one of the indigenous organizations in Kenya, Somalia and Nigeria. The organization was established in 2006 to urgently address the situation of poverty in Africa through empowerment of youth and women to ensure realization of millennium development goals.
Since its establishment URDO-International has carried out several activities in Somali Kenya and Nigeria In addition, URDO Civil Society Forum was established to ensure that the African family unit lives a dignified life through peace building and conflict prevention, promoting social justice, civic participation, capacity building, empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
URDO-International is managed by independent non-partisan indigenous professionals who have practical & technical experience on various fields of capacity buildings of humanitarian sectors and community development projects.
URDO International Core Program is to aid those in need in a timely manner, regardless of race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, or age. When disaster strikes, time is a precious commodity and implementing an effective disaster response is critical. URDO International continues to be among the first respondents to meet the needs of a sudden crisis or disaster.
Founded in 2004 to help families suffering in the aftermath of crises URDO International provides affected and displaced families with emergency disaster relief whenever emergencies strike. From civil conflicts to earthquakes, over the years, URDO International presence has been prominent providing humanitarian relief to people who have been affected in Somalia Kenya and Nigeria
After a disaster strikes, our Disaster Response Teams deploy to the affected areas, and works to distribute aid in the form of food supplies, water, hygiene kits, clothing, mattresses, shelter, and medical supplies. At URDO International, we are committed to doing whatever we can do to support people in their time of need.
